3300
miles

Hi, I hope you can join me from day to day as I set out on my horse Dakota to ride 3300 miles across this great nation. All in all I will ride through 10 states from St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest city in America, through the heartland of the Midwest and then, off to Puget Sound Washington.  Following in the rich heritage of the Circuit Riders of old, I will share my experiences with you through pictures, videos, blogs and thoughts along the way. Living in the 21st Century is much different than how the pioneers used to live. Many times we are so connected to our devices we fail to see the beauty all around us.  At night, I gaze up at the stars and feel privileged to be out here in the wide open spaces. It's not always easy taking care of a horse. It's a lot of work but the dividends are worth it.  In March I left for the South with nothing and now I find myself with a 3 horse trailer, a truck to tow it and a companion named Dakotah who is a 15 year old, paint quarter horse.  With any animal you spend time with you begin to grow a bond.  She's pretty laid back and loves people which is good. She also does well with traffic which is a must. The first time I crossed the nation was in 99 on an Appaloosa named Cody. Unlike that trip I will be the driver of the rig and the rider of the horse. We pull into town and I get as much riding done as I can before I set up camp. She has about 10 miles of riding in her per day, unlike my other horse who could go 20 or so miles.

There's no rules, no expectations, and no records to set. It's all about what God wants and I'm fine with that.
